WAVE Foundation partners with Newport Aquarium to educate our community about the amazing wildlife and science behind our aquatic world. Our professional educators make incredible memories by connecting our community with animal ambassadors.
WAVE programs expand access and increase the footprint of Newport Aquarium by bringing the ocean to people like you!

Come join us for onsite programs in our jaw-some new classroom space located at Newport on the Levee. Parking is free in the garage for the first hour any day, and free Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Onsite Programs
Camp WAVE
Make spring break, days off, and summer vacation memorable with Camp WAVE! Hosted at the WAVE Education Center at Newport on the Levee with daily trips to the Newport Aquarium to experience the wonder of aquatic creatures first-hand.
Early Childhood Programs
There are so many opportunities for fun and learning at the WAVE Education Center for young children. WAVE offers two different early childhood programs with animal ambassadors, crafts, and story time that will engage and inspire kiddos to love nature.
Gills Club
In partnership with Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, Gills Club helps kids, especially girls, ages 8-13 build confidence in STEM. Gills connect with scientists actively working in STEM-related fields and facilitate ocean conservation!
Offsite Programs
Finstitute After-School Program
Finstitute after school programs combine conservation topics, animal ambassadors, and activities to get brains and bodies moving. NEW programs include games like Lizards on the Loose, Tide Pool Hop, and more!
WAVE on Wheels
WAVE on Wheels brings the aquarium to you! From small groups to large, we’ve got the experience best suited for your needs. You may qualify for a free program through the Community Outreach Scholarship Fund.
