Hands-On Homeschool Learning

During this program, WAVE will lead hands-on science labs, offer the chance for students to meet an animal ambassador, and have some fun!

Homeschool Learning Lab is a standards-based, 2 hour program designed to help support your curriculum needs.

Jan. 22 - Animal Habitats - K-2nd

Learn together at WAVE as we discover aquatic animal adaptations and how these animals survive in their specific habitats through hands on activities including creating our own habitat for an aquatic animal. We will also get the chance to meet an animal ambassador!

This program is designed for Kindergarten-2nd grade and focuses on the standards K.LS.2, 1.LS.2, and 2.LS.2

Feb. 19 - Natural Resources - 3rd-5th

Join us at WAVE as we learn how earth’s resources can effect our everyday life and what we can do to protect them through hands on activities including experimenting with creating a water filter. We will also get the chance to meet an animal ambassador!

This program is designed for 3rd-5th grade and focuses on the standards 3.ESS.2, 3.ESS.3, 4.ESS.1, 4.ESS.3, and 5.LS.1

Mar. 19 - Plant Cells and Survival - 6th-8th

Join us at WAVE as we learn about plant cells, photosynthesis and how plants pass on traits over different generations. Participants will get to look through a microscope and practice identifying parts of plant cells along with other hands on activities. We will also get the chance to meet an animal ambassador!

This program is designed for 6th-8th grade and focus on the standards 6.LS.3, 7.LS.1, and 8.LS.3
